His trilogy of shows based on geek culture; Action Figure Archive, Action Figure Archive Vol 2 and Steve McLean is Retrosexual made multiple top lists including The Herald and Wired Magazine. In 2023 he toured the east coast of the US and performed to sold out rooms and gained excellent reviews in Tampa, Orlando and Miami.
His latest show is called Aerosmith to ZZ Top and is all about 80s hair rock. It's touring festivals and small theatres in 2025 and was a hit during the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, having capacity crowds and being well received by critics.
2025 saw Steve release his first book; Stealing Deep Purple. It tracks the unbelievable true story of a band pretending to be Deep Purple in 1980. The book was in the Lulu Entertainment Bestseller chart for over 10 weeks
Steve's Radio and TV appearances include; Screen Wipe (BBC), Soccer AM (Sky Sports), Very British Problems (C5) and Slaving Away (Amazon Audible).
Steve is also the resident host of the West End New Act of the Year Comedy Competition in London.
