Glass Eye Comedy presents:
Stand Up 4 Foodbanks Day 1
Share:
TweetJoin us for an extraordinary weekend of comedy with Glass Eye Comedy and The Dove Street Inn as we bring back Stand Up 4 Foodbanks to Trinity Park Ipswich, featuring a stellar lineup of comedians, all coming together to support local Food Banks.
This event has been running for 4 years and each year we've doubled in size. Last year we saw 800 audience members join us to raise much needed awareness and Food supplies for foodbanks across Suffolk. Each year we've had Foodbanks queuing the following day to collect the donations and still there was not enough. So this year we've said lets be ambitious. We are going for a weekend of comedy with a different line up each night.
There is a small admission fee of £3 to cover expenses for this event, and we ask you to bring a bag for life filled with non-perishable goods and/or sanitary items. These donations will be collected and distributed to local food banks, ensuring that we contribute in any way we can to alleviate the challenges faced by those in need. Come for the laughter, stay for the cause. Let's stand together and make a difference in our community.

I thought on the whole it was good but I was near the back so there was pub noise coming from the other side. It wasn't the best one I've been to but it was 💯 percent still worth going. Radu the Romanian guy was funny but I think he was a bit too hard on himself. When you start talking about losing the audience then it's not a good look. To be fair his mic could have been louder at the start. Sam Silver was really funny. I don't doubt that he's actually had those experiences (with drugs). I haven't but people lead different lives I guess...One of his openers about being on a recent Louis Theroux documentary was good (Manosphere on iPlayer - essential viewing). Anyway back to the comedy. I think a lot about being a stand up comedian is confidence, and Sam had it in spades. Engaged with the audience, reeled back when some of the audience's own stories were a bit too weird. He was my favourite of the three. Third Act was Tiff Stevenson who I did recognise when she came in but I could not think from where. She was trying out some new material and for the most part it was very funny. Forty-two minutes is a helluva effort. I think if I started writing now, I'd have, maybe, three minutes' worth? Anyway good craic, good comedy, and yes of course I'll come again (that's what she said) 😁
