Central Smirk Comedy was founded by Mark Elliott in 2005 in Horsham, starting with a run of grassroots gigs that quickly earned a loyal following. Over the years, Central Smirk has become a respected name on the UK comedy circuit, with a proud history of booking future stars like Romesh Ranganathan, Dane Baptiste, and fan-favourite Prince Abdi — alongside hundreds of other brilliant acts.
With regular shows in Horsham, Crawley, and London, Central Smirk continues to deliver sharp stand-up, warm rooms, and buzzing crowds. One of our most successful current nights runs at The Dugout at Belushi’s London Bridge, bringing together top circuit comics and engaged, comedy-savvy audiences.
Beyond the stage, Central Smirk also offers improvised comedy workshops, stagecraft training, and guest masterclasses, supporting the growth of new and emerging performers in a fun, inclusive environment.
