His extensive TV and radio credits include:

Have I Got News For You (BBC One)

8 Out Of 10 Cats (Channel 4)
Celebrity Mastermind (BBC One)
Celebrity Squares (ITV)
Never Mind The Buzzcocks (BBC Two)
Heading Out (BBC Two)
The Culture Show (BBC Two)
Charlie Brooker’s Weekly Wipe (BBC Two)

Tony Law’s Surreal Guide To Surreal Comedy (Radio 4 Extra)
Infinite Monkey Cage (Radio 4).

“Takes post-modern stand-up to a dangerously funny new level” – The Guardian

‘The King of post-modern nonsense” – Telegraph

Opening Act is another regular headline level comedian PETER BRUSH

A highly distinctive performer and deft writer of finely crafted jokes, Peter Brush unassumingly takes the stage with his slight bespectacled frame and scruffy hair, before consummately conquering it with an arsenal of razor sharp quirky one-liners and peerlessly original routines, all delivered in an amusingly awkward fashion.

Peter performs at all the major clubs across the UK, as well as having done many of it’s biggest festivals, he has also played shows in Switzerland, Norway and Hungary. Formerly a BBC New Comedy Award finalist, he has written for several BBC Radio 4 shows and was the support act for Alexei Sayle’s most recent tour. Other acts he has supported on tour include Jason Manford, Fern Brady, Jonathan Pie, Geoff Norcott, Arthur Smith and Paul Sinha.

★★★★½
"Compellingly hilarious.. first-class gag writing… an original and achingly funny voice" - Chorlte

"I love Peter Brush, what a comic" - Jason Manford

Middle Act is AMIT MISTRY

Amit Mistry is a comedian born and raised in Manchester, to Indian ‘freshie’ parents who moved here from abroad to find a better life. Amit shares highly relatable stories about modern life as a dad and husband, leaving all crowds entertained and amused up and down the country! Amit has opened for circuit powerhouses like Stephen Bailey and Mick Ferry, and was shortlisted for BBC new comedy awards in 2024. An act for all, except his in laws!

Host for the night is Shoe Cake Fave CHRIS LUMB

A superb impressionist and a warm, welcoming, friendly host. Chris has appeared on TV shows such as 'Russell Howard's Good News' and 'Britain's Got Talent'

Reviews for previous Shoe Cake Comedy events

John K reviewed Kirkleatham Walled Garden - Comedy Night which happened on 7:45pm on Fri 24th Oct 2025.

Went specifically for the headliner but I was also impressed by the "middle" act. The venue is a bit of a barn, with no intimacy. No draught drinks. £5 for a 330ml bottle of beer. 5* for price refers to the gig ticket, not the bar.

Nigel R reviewed The Warehouse Comedy Club : Tom Taylor, Howard Anstock, Kate Robb, & MC James Kilvington which happened on 8:00pm on Fri 3rd Oct 2025.

R he set up change to stage was much better. James Kilvington worked the audience really well and was better than the 3 acts. Tom Taylor was the better of the 3 acts. Price was good value for money but felt that the bar service could have been improved by having staff behind the upstairs bar before the comedy gig started.

Christine R reviewed The Comedy Chapel : Stand Up & Improv Comedy Night which happened on 7:00pm on Sat 26th Apr 2025.

Great night out, a variety of comedy acts to enjoy, a tasty curry and rice in with the price, and a good selection of drinks at the bar. Seats are pews so something to consider when thinking about what clothes to wear - you might want to take a jumper, if only to sit on!

It was dead good! We really enjoyed the night from start to finish. The acts were brilliant, the stand up and imrov comedians alike. Of course the curry was amazing too! Will definitely be back again. Sorry for late review!
