THE COMEDY CHAPEL
Yes, It's the return of the much anticipated Comedy Night at Chapel - Whitehouse Street with a brand new regular format featuring stand up comedians and improvised sketch.
This month gracing our comedy altar is:
THE DISCOUNT COMEDY CHECKOUT
Regular headliners in comedy clubs all over the UK for over 12 years now, The DCC also brought improvised comedy shows to Teesside over 5 years ago now and this is just one of many monthly residencies they have on the Teesside region. Without doubt, one of the best Improv Sketch groups in the business and the only professional group performing in the area.
Featuring:
Chris Lumb (BBC3: Russell Howards Good News), Natalie Smeaton (Britain's Got Talent), and Phil Allan-Smith (BBC1: This is MY House, local legend Ted Hanky).
If you've never seen improvised comedy before, you are in for a real treat. All the games, scenarios, and situations are formed and created from your suggestions ... that's right YOU, the audience.
It's very much in the style of 'Whose Line is it Anyway' but with a modern twist ....and normally a little risker (and often ruder too).

"The comedy is creative and crude, quick and quirky, the performers commit completely to the games and create funny & fantastic characters at a moment's notice."
- ★★★★★ Remotegoat
"There's a wonderful slapstick nature to it all but they are all impressively literate in film culture and genres too, creating brilliant, quick draw pastiches of popular cinema that will have you in stitches."
★★★★ - Manchester's Finest
"Total fun and instantly engaging."

Thoroughly enjoyed it. Lovely venue too. Acts were all brilliant. Loved Helen White!!

Everything was great. Being a smaller venue that is normally a restaurant made it slightly difficult to see, perhaps consider investing in a small raised platform for the performers would solve this problem.
