The Rhostio Rooftop Comedy Festival is back! Now in its third year, Roasted Comedy has another special summer in store, with five whole weeks of double bill previews from some of the most exciting voices in comedy, with acts from across the UK bringing you advance previews of their latest solo shows before they take them to the Edinburgh Fringe. Join us live from the Rhostio roof terrace* for top quality coffee, cocktails and comedy!
Capacity is strictly limited out on the terrace, so buy your tickets in advance to secure your seat at just £8.50 each (£10 on the door), or get in early with an earlybird ticket for just £6.50!
Lineup:
JESSIE NIXON: DON'T MAKE ME REGRET THIS
Jessie Nixon is putting her life on the line for this show. Or at least her livelihood/self-esteem. She's ripped out her heart, covered it in glitter and squirty cream, and offered it to you, still beating. Don't make her regret it. If you're mentally ill, a lapsed catholic, queer, occasionally distraught, too smart for your own good or have ever cried in a changing room: this is for you. As seen on BBC One and BBC Three. Tour support for Fern Brady, Helen Bauer and Lou Sanders.
ALEX KITSON: THIS IS WATER
Two young fish are swimming along. An older fish swims by and says, "Morning, boys! How's the water?" The two young fish look at each other, and keep swimming. After a while, one says to the other, "What the hell is water?"
The ISH Edinburgh Comedy Awards Newcomer Nominee follows up last year’s multi-award-nominated, five-star cult hit with a new hour of fast paced, critically-acclaimed stand-up. Let’s work out what we’re all swimming in.
Tour support for Fin Taylor, Tom Ward and Vittorio Angelone.

Great evening and will return! I haven't been to live comedy show before and it was very good fun and I got involved with the audience participation happily! There was Only one act I didn't really understand, but I think i was the wrong TA for that one so just one of those cases of 'you can't please all'. Venue was cool too, they just seemed ill prepared for an event, no hot chocolate, no chai, no vegan cakes :(

Great line up for a good cause. Shame the venue/layout wasn't really conducive to a comedy night, or maybe it was the audience who seemed to think it was ok to talk whilst the comedians performed, and noisily rustle crisp packets throughout... Maybe with a different layout and audience, I would recommend it... Rob Hughes and Costas were particular standout stand ups! :-)
