Labor Extends Glencore Coal Mine as Gaslighting Officially Added to National Energy Mix

The Albanese Government has come under the spotlight for approving an extension of Glencore's Ulan thermal coal mine, despite its election promises for environmental responsibility. The government hilariously claims that gaslighting is the most reliable energy source for Australians, with industry experts jokingly suggesting that it could account for 80% of the country's energy mix by 2030.

In a tongue-in-cheek speech, the Prime Minister reassured Australians worried about the climate impact, stating that gaslighting is, surprisingly, a form of clean energy. "By 2030, families will cook, charge phones, and heat homes using gaslighting energy," he proclaimed, alluding to the irony of promoting coal mining while advising against using plastic straws.

A government spokesperson chimed in, noting the merits of gaslighting as an energy source available 24/7, needing no batteries or transmission lines, just a press conference and a straight face.
