The Memphis Science Center is pulling out all the stops to stay afloat with its latest interactive exhibit, 'Fun With Funding Cuts.' This unique display encourages children to tackle the museum's budget shortfall, a problem that could soon lead to its closure if not resolved. As part of the exhibit, kids can fill in spreadsheets using a giant calculator, make fundraising calls, and even apply for federal grants, only to be hilariously denied. The goal is to provide a hands-on experience with the harsh realities of running a cultural institution on a tight budget. While the museum hopes this sparks some creative financial solutions, the exhibit also serves as a call for help to keep the museum alive. In a twist of fate, it was later announced that the museum had been purchased by a private equity firm and is set to become condos.
