In a bid to show their inclusive spirit, Julian and Tanya Cook invited their son Max's boyfriend, Oli O’Connor, for a Christmas gathering. However, the festive cheer quickly evaporated as Oli's behavior left much to be desired.

Julian remarked, "We don't want to seem intolerant, but does he have to eat like that? And seriously, could he shower?"

The couple found Oli's relentless enthusiasm for YouTube star Mr Beast less than engaging, and his choice of lime green shorts was more suited to a nightclub than their antique seating. The Cooks even contemplated creating a new house rule against vaping weed in their snug.

Julian jokingly suggested that Tanya could help Max find a better match via Grinder, like they did when assisting with his university selection.

In a moment of candidness, Max conceded, "Yeah, fair enough, he's a prick."
