Five possible reasons Euphoria and Rivals are popular, all of which are sex

Euphoria and Rivals are currently topping the TV charts, and it's not hard to see why. Here are five reasons why these shows have viewers tuning in, and yes, they're all about sex!

They contain scenes of a sexual nature

Forget about the deep social commentary of The Wire or the corporate jabs in Severance. Who needs that when you have Sydney Sweeney jumping rope in a swimsuit? Sophisticated viewers are now more interested in watching young A-listers getting frisky.

There have sexy people in them

Whether it's choosing vowels or just standing around, sexy people make everything more interesting. Producers have tapped into this and are cashing in on our human weaknesses. Even your secret crush on the less-than-conventional Danny Dyer is covered.

The sexy people have sex with each other

It's a stroke of genius. Not only are the casts filled with hotties, but they also frequently get down and dirty. The writers' job must be easy, typing 'they f**k again' on every other page. It's no wonder millions are watching, despite the plethora of free explicit content online.

The sex is more sexy than regular sex

Even steamy scenes can lose their appeal, but not on Euphoria. They've created a storyline where Sweeney gets intimate with a microphone and balloons into a sexy giantess. If you don't believe it, your dad has probably done some 'research' after reading it in the Mail.

Sex is a universal desire that will never go away

While some shows might alienate viewers, Euphoria and Rivals appeal to anyone with a pulse. With top-notch production values, these shows are sure to keep future generations just as entertained, much like the classic 70s film Au Pair Girls.
