David Ward Is Not Who He Says He Is : Chesham Fringe preview ( WIP)
David Ward has been called "one of the nicest men in comedy." And sure, he tries to live up to it. But life isn’t that simple, is it? Behind the jokes, the warmth, and the dad-level politeness, there’s another side—a darker, messier, more complicated side.
In this unflinching and funny show, David lifts the curtain on himself, revealing the good, the bad, and the downright cringeworthy moments that make him who he is. He’ll explore the masks we wear, the truths we twist, and the stories we tell to make life easier—or harder and the all-too-human need to be liked.
“Guaranteed to be well-received, especially as his material is so universal – a reliably funny addition to any bill ” Chortle
Expect laughter, honesty, and a few eyebrow-raising revelations.
Because no one is exactly who they seem. Not even David Ward.
Athena Kugblenu
As seen on BBC's Mock The Week, regular co-host of The Guilty Feminist, panel appearances on Radio 4 shows such as Comedy Club, Museum of Curiosity, Loose Ends. “Athena is like a breath of fresh air”– Funny Women
“Good material, sharp presentation…an important voice” – The Times Writer on the viral smash DATING HORROR STORIES (Comedy Central) Athena has 2 books published by Hachette Children’s Group – History’s Most Epic FIBS and History’s Most Epic FAILS.
Essam Aljaedy
From one-liners about his dad and British/Arab/ Kenyan background, to short anecdotes about his dad and British/Arab/Kenyan background, E.J. has been performing on the London circuit for the past couple of years and picked up a few new act awards along the way."
Audrey Simmons
Still practically brand new to the stand-up scene, Audrey is stepping into the spotlight , armed with a fresh perspective and a healthy dose of stage fright, Audrey will let you into her world. Expect a blend of relatable anecdotes, slightly off-kilter observations, and the undeniable charm of someone who is still very much figuring things out. Come witness the birth of a comedic voice... or at least a valiant attempt!
Cian Darcy
24 year old Irish comic from Dublin with a love for complaining about the stuff that’s happened to him and stuff that annoys him.
MC Sion James
"Utterly charming ... Lovable giant' Time Out London
