TweetDave Watt (aka Captain Breadbeard) hosts his monthly alternative stand-up comedy night in the heart of Canterbury.
September's special guests include Madeleine Brettingham, LJ da Funk, Ribs Norman, Carl Carzana, Chris Ryan and Sham Shakil!
Madeleine Brettingham
Recently, she’s become one to watch on the stand-up circuit — winner of Bath and West End Female New Act of the Year 2025, a top 3 finalist at Hastings and West End New Act of the Year and a semi-finalist at this year’s upcoming Funny Women and So You Think You’re Funny contests. Promoters have called her “feisty” and “fearless.”
LJ da Funk
‘There's a fine line between genius and insanity. LJ Da Funk has crossed that line and kicked it to death.’ (List)
‘Relished every minute of it, an infectiously enjoyable quality’ Steve Bennett (Chortle)
Leicester Square Theatre New Comedian of the Year winner, Laughing Horse New Act of the Year Finalist, Pegasus Comedy Act of the Year winner and Jaunty Lark finalist
Ribs Norman
Ribs is a long-limbed oversharer with a suspicious number of animal anecdotes! She also runs Faversham Fringe, Hand of Doom Productions & Comedy Lock-In. “Hilarious, quirky and original.”
Paul Steer
Paul offers good solid advice on ageing gracefully, keeping your relationship exciting & avoiding your own teenage children.
Chris Ryan
Chris Ryan is on a never ending quest to be cool. He’ll try anything: riding a motorcycle made of coat hangers, questionable body piercings or dancing to theme from Countdown. He has performed at Angle Comedy, Comic Boom in Brighton's Komedia, at the Bloodstock heavy metal festival (really). One day he may even tell a joke (or two).
Sham Shakil
Sham is a Margate based comedian with a laidback style who also runs Funny Cuts Comedy Night

A fantastic evening of laughs provided by an excellent group of comedians. Wonderfully compared by the fantastic Captain Breadbeaed. Venue was intimate but had a well stocked bar. Who can complain when between acts you get to chance to sample Bourbon biscuits and Bourbon whiskey.
