Technically, Pete Butler started comedy in 2010—which sounds vague enough to imply either an impressive slow burn or a very long soundcheck. Since then, he’s been popping up on stages across the UK like an unexpected plumbing issue, performing as himself or as one of his delightfully oddball characters: like Edgar Casper, a deluded poet from Cambridge who thinks Byron is still trending, or a deadpan plumbing tutor fighting to free his beloved trade from the unfortunate grip of 90s adult films.
Pete’s been part-time on the mic, full-time behind the curtain—running gigs from Norwich to Exeter while quietly sharpening his comedic tools. But lately, he’s stepping out of the shadows and into the spotlight, determined to leave his unique mark on the UK comedy scene
He’s written and performed sketches for BBC Radio Norfolk, rubbing shoulders with UK comedy legends like Tim FitzHigham, and somehow convinced them to let him stay in the room. Also an animator, Pete brings a chilled, thoughtful vibe to the stage—delivering observational oddities about sexuality, parental expectations, and his inexplicable preference for toys over people.
