Donald Trump's alleged 'talks' with Iranian officials were, in fact, a lengthy negotiation with a set of patio umbrellas in a White House courtyard, as revealed by security footage. The footage shows Trump passionately urging the umbrellas to 'come to the table and make a deal'.
The revelation explains the conflicting reports about the discussions, which Iran maintains never occurred.
In a later press conference, Trump described the talks as positive and claimed, 'I had tremendous talks with the Iranians. Very strong, very positive.' He also noted their tough negotiating skills, suggesting 'we're close to something very big'.
At one point, a light breeze caused an umbrella to rotate slightly, which Trump interpreted as a positive sign, telling nearby patio chairs, 'we're making progress, big progress, they respect strength'.
He claimed that the talks included demands that Iran never build a nuclear weapon, a proposal the umbrellas supposedly did not oppose. 'They also promised to give me a private jet as a gift, which is nice. They were full of praise for Trump,' he noted.
