Meet the 100-year-old Taskmaster contestant!

Taskmaster creator Alex Horne took his beloved comedic challenge show to new heights—or rather, new ages—by staging a special edition at Seccombe Court, an Oxfordshire care home. This unique event featured a 100-year-old contestant, Ruth Johnson, who, along with three other residents, showcased their competitive spirits in a series of whimsical tasks.

The contestants were tasked with an array of challenges, including estimating a minute with closed eyes, identifying pineapple-related items, transferring sweets using only a straw, and constructing the tallest tower with spaghetti and marshmallows. Ruth Johnson, initially baffled by the spaghetti, enjoyed the experience and was charmed by Horne, whom she recognized from television.

Ultimately, it was Christine Jesson who claimed victory, earning a trophy from Horne. The festivities were filmed for future release on Taskmaster’s YouTube channel, adding a new chapter to the show's history.

Alex Horne remarked on the memorable nature of this particular session, highlighting the residents' creative interpretations of the rules and their competitive edge. Wojciech Kuczkowski, Seccombe Court's general manager, expressed gratitude for the opportunity, noting the joy and enthusiasm it brought to the residents.
