Local man put more thought into Hottest 100 vote than he did for the election

Local 36-year-old Jeremy Smith has expressed relief after the 'hardest vote of his life': the Hottest 100 Australian songs.

Smith spent hours breaking down a long list of songs, whittling it down to just ten; a stark contrast to the much easier vote of the election which he came to a decision on in 5 minutes based purely on vibes.

'There is so much more to consider than you would think going into it,' he said after posting a screenshot of his list to Instagram which looked nearly identical to every other list posted.

'First of all, it didn’t hit me just how many options there were until I opened the website. Then I had to think, do I just pick my favourite songs or do I be strategic with my vote and try lock in my back-ups whose only chance is at the bottom of the hundred and arguably need the push more.'

'Even if I just went by artist do I do the same artist more than once? If not which of the songs do I pick? Are fans of this artist risking splitting the vote leading to none of the songs making? This is too much pressure!'
