Goodnight Sweetheart set to return... as a novel

Laurence Marks and Maurice Gran are set to pen the final episode of their beloved time-slip sitcom 'Goodnight Sweetheart' – not for TV, but as a novel! The series originally delighted audiences on BBC One from 1993 to 1999, featuring Nicholas Lyndhurst as the time-hopping bigamist, Gary Sparrow.

After a successful one-off reunion episode in 2016, fans were eager for more. While a new season wasn't in the cards, the creators are now turning to a novel to provide closure. They've launched a Kickstarter campaign to bring 'Many Happy Returns' to life, with hopes of publishing under the newly formed Idiot Box.

The novel will take readers back to just before the 2016 special, delving into Gary's tangled life across time. Expect run-ins with the likes of Marilyn Monroe and The Beatles, as well as modern-day challenges like selfie sticks and teenage daughters!

With 54 days left, the campaign is making strides towards its £30,000 target, having already raised nearly £5,000. Marks and Gran are excited to finally offer fans the chance to discover what becomes of their favorite time-traveling hero.
